UNO has released an official statement addressing and dispelling widespread online speculation suggesting that its iconic card game would be playable for cash on Las Vegas casino floors. “We regret to share some disappointing news,” the company stated, “but the casino floor isn’t quite ready for UNO.”
The clarification was shared via Facebook and other social media platforms following public confusion surrounding the brand’s forthcoming pop-up activation at the Palms Casino Resort. This event, known as the UNO Social Club, will proceed as scheduled, but it will be a private, themed experience that does not involve gambling.
Remaining true to its playful voice, the brand noted, “This isn’t a Reverse card.” While the Palms experience is moving forward, UNO confirmed that the larger UNO Social Club initiative will expand to select venues in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Atlanta, and Austin starting this August.
How The Rumor Began
The speculation began following Mattel’s May press release announcing the debut of the UNO Social Club at the Palms Casino Resort. The announcement teased “exclusive game variants,” themed rooms, and immersive experiences, all hosted within a vibrantly styled hotel suite.
Although the company never indicated that gambling would be involved, online chatter quickly amplified the idea, leading UNO to release a humorous yet direct clarification.
In its statement, the brand emphasized, “While we do have tight security, Las Vegas casino floors just aren’t robust enough for UNO at this time.”
Online Card Games That Offer Real Money Payouts
Legal online casinos offer numerous card games that offer real money payouts, including poker, Blackjack, and baccarat. In addition to traditional versions, you can also find innumerable variations for each game.
Online, you will find both American and European versions of Blackjack, along with a slew of other variations, including Pirate 21, Pontoon, Single Deck, and more. Betting on Blackjack is one of the most wagered-on card games in the world.
Online casinos also feature live dealer card games including poker, Blackjack, baccarat, and more. Live dealer games are hosted in a casino and broadcast over secure video/audio feeds. Buy-ins for live dealer games typically range from $1 to $500 per hand.
With an online casino account, players can also access other options the site offers, such as sports betting, poker apps, slots, and specialty games.
