New Study Indicates Casino Industry Generates $329 Billion In Economic Activity

The casino industry’s National Trade Association has stated that the US casino industry generates $329 billion annually in economic activity.

Commercial and tribal casinos employ 1.8 million Americans, which split $104 billion in wages across the country. Last year, the casino industry paid roughly $52.7 billion in taxes to federal, state, and local governments. Despite being set back by COVID-19 restrictions, the industry has bounced back to pre-pandemic levels and is set to set new records soon.

The American Gaming Association (AGA) released a study showing how the US casino industry impact in 2022 was up 26% from 2017 before the pandemic. Bill Miller, president and CEO of the AGA, stated that a few years ago, nearly all casinos were closed, and today, we’re seeing record revenue in the industry.

David Schwartz, a gambling historian at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, told reporters that it speaks to the continuing popularity of casino gambling in the United States. The USA casino industry won over $60 billion from gamblers in 2023.

Legal Online Casinos In The USA

For the most part, legal online casinos in the USA operate outside the country. While a few states allow online casino gambling, most states restrict what their domestic casinos can offer online. Only the state of Washington has outright banned offshore gambling but does not enforce the law.

Online casinos offer the same titles and games as commercial casinos, with multiple variations and typically lower buy-ins. The fastest-paying online casinos also accept additional banking methods, often including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and other digital currencies.

How To Tell If An Online Casino Is Legitimate?

The best way to determine if an online casino is legitimate is to look and see if a trusted gaming regulator licenses the site. Our legal online casino reviews are a great place to start, as they detail each site’s banking suite, bonus offers, game selection, and more. Trusted online casinos also hold compliance records indicating that the odds, security protocols, and other critical operating features are working correctly. Since online casinos utilize random number generators, it is essential to assure players that the odds and games are operating fairly.
