Betting On American Idol 22: Only 5 Singers Remain

The season finale of American Idol will air on May 19th, and the field of competitors has been narrowed down to five performers. Odds for betting on American Idol are posted online at multiple entertainment sportsbooks where gamblers can wager on the performer that will win season 22.

While the presence of betting odds at multiple sportsbooks usually allows gamblers some wiggle room to find the most profitable odds, the moneylines are identical for each remaining singer at both sites as of this writing.

Keen-eyed readers will notice that the two contenders listed in bold, Julia Gagnon and McKenna Brienholt, were eliminated during last night’s episode. Online entertainment sportsbooks have been slow to react, and we’d be surprised if any errantly placed wagers on Gagnon or Brienhold following their expulsion would be refunded.

Gagnon, in particular, was a fan favorite who was expected to make it to the Grand Finale and give the odds-leader, Will Mosely, a run for his money. Her exit from the competition has many spectators upset, and also seems to clear the way for Mosely to win season 22 of Idol.

The front-runner, Will Mosely, is currently 800 points ahead of Abi Carter, the singer listed in second place. To give you an idea of how much of an underdog Carter is, bets of $1 placed on her to win would earn gamblers $6 if she does.

Should you consider betting on Abi Carter to win American Idol? Perhaps.

Katy Perry was so moved by the above performance from last night’s episode that she feigned concern for her status as a pop star.

“That performance made me scared for my job.”

If Carter can parlay last night’s performances into a solid effort over the final two episodes of American Idol, audiences may shift their votes in her direction.

Gamblers who anticipate a continued ascension for Carter should bet now because her odds will sink closer to zero following the next episode.

This Sunday’s episode of American Idol will be their featured Disney Night. Performances will include renditions of Disney classics from their 100+ catalog of films and musicals.
