This Saturday at 8 PM, Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, OH, will host the 2023 USFL Championship Game. While it may not offer as many gambling opportunities as betting on the Super Bowl does, there are enough game lines and prop bets on the boards to allow for shopping.
The Birmingham Stallions handily defeated the New Orleans Breakers in the South Division Championship Game, besting them by a score of 47-22.
The Pittsburgh Maulers won the North Division Championship Game in close fashion, taking the victory in overtime by scoring the first two 2-point conversions.
Due to there being eight total teams in the USFL and their current playoff format only allowing the top two squads from each division to enter, some solid franchises have been left out in the cold.
Both the Houston Gamblers and the Memphis Showboats finished with better regular season records than either team competing in the northern half of the USFL Playoff bracket.
Also, the Philadelphia Stars of the USFL North Division finished with a 4-6 record, tied with the Maulers and Michigan Panthers.
Either way, a four-win team is facing an eight-win team in the championship game, and legal USFL betting sites are in unison in their belief that the Birmingham Stallions will win.

Even though this game is being played within a 2-hour drive of Pittsburgh, the Stallions remain over a touchdown favorite to win. Because of the USFL’s oddball policy regarding only a few teams getting to host home games, there’s never been a Maulers contest played in front of their local fans.
For that reason, no one is sure whether Pittsburgh-based Maulers fans exist. If a large bulk of the crowd is wearing black and yellow, that could give Pittsburgh an edge to at least cover the spread.
The same could be said for Birmingham. They’ve been a host team since the league restarted in 2022, but will they travel to Ohio to support their Stallions?
